We focus on intentional play-based learning, in order for them to succeed and become creative problem solvers and lifelong learners with the skill sets necessary to attain their present and future goals.
Aldrich holds a special place in the hearts of countless children and families. Our curriculum has prepared preschoolers in the Rochester community for kindergarten and beyond for more than 80 years.

At Aldrich, we provide a stable, loving, and welcoming environment for children to thrive. Each day, families are greeted by our directors, and welcomed by their teachers.

Our three outdoor classrooms provide an experiential learning opportunity that fosters development in creativity, fine and gross motor skills, social interaction, and language development.

On days when extreme cold or heavy rain prevents classes from going outside, we have two indoor spaces where students can practice their gross motor skills and burn off some energy.

Lessons and activities at Aldrich focus on building confidence and skills which are social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and academic in nature

Children develop friendships inside the classroom and their families find a community. Aldrich's impact goes beyond the school day.
At Aldrich School, we pride ourselves on creating a unique environment where all children can thrive – as little learners, as kind friends, and as curious explorers of our world.

Aldrich has a rich history and quality reputation in the Rochester community.

The school symbol of a turtle symbolizes two very important themes that are central at Aldrich School: the importance of children learning at their own pace, and a reminder to not rush childhood.
The turtle has been associated with Aldrich School throughout its rich history. In 1968, one of Jim Miller-Melberg’s iconic turtle play sculptures was donated to Aldrich. The turtle sculpture became and remains a beloved piece at Aldrich and is still present in one of our Outdoor Classrooms in our backyard. It was later adopted as the school symbol.
